GRADUATE TRAINEE – Legal On-Contract
Job Summary:
The Graduate Trainee-Legal is responsible for the provision of administrative, corporate secretariat and legal support services to the Department.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Accurately recording minutes at sub-committee and board meetings.
- Organising arrangements for all boards, committees, annual, special and other meetings, as assigned.
- Co-ordinating documents for all Boards, committees and other meetings and ensuring the timely delivery of documents.
- Collating all documentation into packages for all boards, committees and other meetings.
- Working closely and effectively with the Corporate Secretary/Legal Officer to keep him/her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
- Preparing and following-up action items on decisions arising from members of all boards’ and committee members for distribution to authorized personnel.
- Adhering to compliance with applicable rules and regulations set in bylaws regarding board and board committee matters, including advance distribution of materials before any meeting in electronic/paper format.
- Co-ordinating information from management and preparing status reports for submission to the Board, Committees and other meetings.
- Conducting research on legal issues where required.
- Assisting with the review of Tenders and Contractual Agreement.
- Compiling and filing all documentary evidence for litigation matters.
- Drafting all correspondence for the department.
- Participating in all relevant meetings such as Toolbox, Job Safety Analysis, Permit, Safety and Health Committee and any other related safety meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- LLB Degree
- Training in Corporate Secretarial practice will be an asset.
Minimum Experience:
- No more than 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity.

- Advanced computer literacy skills.
- Ability to manage complex and highly confidential information.
- Ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to organize and multi-task.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism.

- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Contract Period: Three (3) months (with option to renew).
